Beware, Ye Tyrants, Beware!

He was only 22yrs and 6months old. A young boy who knew and understood a lot more than his age. A guy who is and shall be a synonym to Revolution.. he…who was fearless and unwavering….. ….He who gave up himself as a supreme sacrifice…..so that we are able to live the lives our way…… He was just like one of us…. but his spirit was alive when he lived and walked our land…....he was free and died a death that only the divine can win… He came to life when he was gone…… A legend who has and shall always be the soul of the young India……
The Braveheart…..Shaheed Bhagat Singh..
A million blogs and books have been written about the martyr…a hundred movies dedicated to him....hence I do not wish to make any further attempts to enlighten you any further with the facts of his life…. My goal….is to make you realize…through this post….the power of the indomitable spirit inside us… the enormous effect that can be caused by channeling our thoughts towards the right path…. the fruits of endurance of not deterring from our goal…. To make Bhagat Singh and the teachings from his life…come alive…….
I dressed up as Bhagat Singh in 7th standard in school…. At that time I had only seen a picture of him in one of my brother’s school assignments. I had thought at that time.. that how can a freedom fighter be so young?? Saw a few more pics of Chandrashekhar Azad, Rajguru and Sukhdev in succession, soon the story was clear. And just then I felt proud that I was born in India. Bhagat Singh is the sole reason why I feel the way i do for my country.
At the tender age of 21 Bhagat Singh was an active participant in the freedom struggle, when he could have very easly continued his studies…. he dropped out of school to join the non-co-operation movement…. Though he respected the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi but set out towards an armed revolution when he did not comply with the pace with which the Mahatma was moving ahead. He traveled all the way to Bengal to learn and fight for the cause he believed in…
Never to be regarded as a terrorist, Bhagat Singh is and should be the soul of each and every youth of the country….
Bhagat Singh in a letter wrote to her mother when he was in jail that he saw that India would never attain total independence. When the imperialists are gone, the white sahibs would be replaced by the black sahibs, the rich would become richer and the poor.... poorer. Total independence can only be achieved only when…… each and every citizen feels for the land, feels the urge to contribute, feels the urge to save and leave behind for their children…. Until then we would never be a free nation.
What were we doing when we were 23….or what have we done as yet…. Let alone doing something for the motherland…. Have we done anything for our neighbourhood? Is there anything that we can call our sacred deed? The one thing for which we can ask for a reward from St.Peter? None None…..and yet another none….!! We might just sit and ponder for a while…..on Martyrs’ Day….we might check out a few movies on freedom fighters as well….. but what after that?
There isn’t always a requirement of a Simon to awaken a revolutionary……we do not need a set up of the sorts to become a Bhagat Singh. He had a very short life and in it he achieved heroic deeds….He realized the importance of years he had in is hands and gave his soul to fight for the revolution…the change he believed in…
We are no different from Bhagat Singh, the only thing we lack in our course of actions is, a mission. He saw his country in destitute..and came to its rescue….gave a helping hand in awakening our forefathers… Now it is our turn…. To help our ailing mother….to help her fight the diseases of the society….to make her healthy and happy again….
Let us all promise ourselves on this day….that we would become better people….that we would make our children better human beings, that we would keep our conduct clean….that we would not bend at the face of injustice…. And that we would take pride in the fact that “ We are Indians….!!”
On That day….. Bhagat Singh’s sacrifice would be truely glorified……..
Inquilab Zindabad…..
